Today I have my good friend and roommate Courtney taking over the blog! I'm loving this dressed-up outfit, and I think it's the perfect outfit for date night on V-day or the office! Take it away, Court!

"My name is Courtney Nevenhoven, and I am a registered nurse. I graduated from the University of Iowa in December and am just beginning my career as an intensive care nurse at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Style is an interesting concept for me because I am required to wear the same mint green scrubs to work every day. The only choice I get in my outfit is my shoes, in which I wear some very fun and bright colored Danskos that let me know off my style personality without killing my feet during a 12 hour shift. Because I very rarely get to show my style, I take every opportunity I can to create a cute outfit. I gravitate towards outfits that allow me to make a statement. I like to do this with either solid colors or neutrals that I can pair with a fun pattern or bold jewelry item. Then I mix and match all of my items together so I can make numerous outfits with them. I am also a sucker for comfort. Since I'm used to wearing the equivalent of pajamas on a daily basis, I can't get myself to wear something that isn't just as comfy."

Dressing for comfort is also a must for me, but that doesn't mean having to wear sweats all the time! Throwing on a cable knit sweater with something more dressy like a tweed skirt (a la Courtney) creates the perfect balance between comfortable and chic.

I'll be doing another guest post on Thursday! For all the men out there, you might want to stayed tuned.. it's been a little too long since my last men's post :) I'll be back tomorrow with that appetizer I was talking about Thursday. See you then!
