Royally Oversized...

Sweater: Dillard's | Pants: Calvin Klein | Booties: Sam Edelman | Bag: Longchamp | Sunnies: Target, love these | Necklace: old, similar here and here | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: kate spade, Mindy Mae's Market | Earrings: J.Crew | Lips: MAC - Happy Go Lucky (similar

An oversized sweater was much needed after eating so many Christmas treats! I'm definitely going to try to get a head start on the new years resolutions, but in the mean time, this sweater from Dillard's will do. I have to mention that these Sam Edelman booties are sooooo comfortable! I've worn them for two days straight now and I don't want to take them off! I can't wait to wear them with spring dresses too. Oh spring, why can't you come sooner?

I'm now back in NW Iowa after taking a "Christmas vacation". I already miss my family! I'm traveling back to Des Moines quite a bit in the next month for work and other commitments, so I'll see them again shortly (yay!). I definitely enjoy being back on my regular "schedule" though. I thought I would never say this, but I actually miss my morning protein shakes :/ Is this what growing up feels like?

Thanks for reading! Make it a great day.

Merry Christmas Eve! Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday of the year. This Christmas is definitely more special for my family. It's been a year of ups and downs, and I'm excited to just spend time with everyone. I think most people find that as they get older, our christmas lists consist of things that really can't be bought, like family time and good health.

For all of you that have read my blog for the last year, thank you so much for your support and friendship! I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! God bless.

Alright guys, I had other plans for this post but a migraine is winning this battle. Any remedies that get rid of them? I don't typically get migraines so I'm really in the dark... literally, my monitor light is on low and I'm about to crawl under the covers.

Have a great weekend! Thanks for reading!

If you're a longtime reader of SI, you know that I'm a BIG fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes! I've been watching Hawkeye sports games since I can remember, and I rarely missed a football or basketball game during college at the University of Iowa. The Iowa football team is going to the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, FL on January 2nd, and the weather will be warm. This t-shirt from Tailgate Iowa, along with a lightweight denim shirt on top, would be a great tailgating outfit if you're going to the game (I'm so jealous if you're one of the lucky few!).

Tailgate Iowa, a new Hawkeye apparel store based in Iowa City, has so much cute collegiate gear! I love all of their vintage-inspired t-shirts - they're so much more unique than the average run-of-the-mill college tees! And side note: the quality is superb! When I first got this shirt, I immediately put it on and noticed how soft it was! I actually had a semi-frantic moment in my apartment when I accidentally spilled hot coffee all over this t-shirt (and my couch.. oops!), but I washed it immediately and the coffee came out completely and it looks brand new! I took these pictures after my near-disaster and clearly this shirt looks bright white and gorgeous! News flash to mom's with college students - Tailgate Iowa gear will last the test of time!!

So I have a HUGE surprise: Tailgate Iowa has graciously offered 15% off in store AND online for all Stylin' Iowan readers!! Use code LIBBY online, and mention Stylin' Iowan Blog in store to receive your discount now - January 3rd! I'm LOVING this tee for me and this tee for the men in my life.

*Thank you Tailgate Iowa for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own. Some exclusions may apply towards discount.

J'aime + Boat House Apparel

T-shirt: Boat House Apparel c/o | Skirt: ChicWish, similar here and here | Pumps: J.Crew Factory | Purse: BCBG | Earrings: Nadri | Bracelet: Mindy Mae's Market | Watch: Michael Kors | Sunnies: Ray-Ban, loving these (on sale!) | Lips: Estee Lauder - Beige

How adorable is this Boat House Apparel t-shirt?! First off, I love the saying: "J' aime Lake Okoboji" obviously because I live here, but mostly because Lake Okoboji holds so many cherished memories of Glaser family gatherings. Boat House Apparel is a casual-wear line founded in Okoboji, and they have the cutest pieces for all the women, men and littles on your holiday gift list. I'm obsessing over the "eat macaroons for breakfast" tee!! Plus their pieces are so easy to style in both casual and formal looks. I love pairing this tee with my formal midi skirt, but it looks equally as cute with skinny jeans and flats!

I can't believe we are less than 2 weeks away from Christmas! All of the hustle and bustle around the holidays can be stressful, but it's my favorite time of year and I look forward to the holidays each fall and winter. My favorite part of the holiday season is getting together with family on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. My entire family will get together after Christmas Eve mass and have a cocktail party. All of the cousins usually end up in my aunt and uncle's basement playing cards and catching up, and it's just so fun to have that night we can look forward to each year. On Christmas day, the entire family gets together again at my parents' house for a prime rib dinner, and you'll usually find us sitting around the dining room table for hours laughing and talking. The quality time I spend with family is something I appreciate more and more each year.

What's your favorite part of the holiday season? Thanks for reading!

Subtle Shimmer...

Sweater: Vanity c/o, similar here and here | Pants: Calvin Klein, similar here | Booties: old, similar here and here | Purse: Marc Jacobs, similar here | Earrings: Chloe + Isabel c/o | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: Mindy Mae's Market, kate spade | Lipstick: Estee Lauder - Nude

I love starting out the week on a fun note, and I'm excited to show you all another cozy (and super affordable!) sweater from Vanity! First off, I really love the cowl-neck. The other day I pulled the collar off my shoulders and it looked like a totally different sweater, so obviously it's super versatile to style. I also love that there's a subtle shimmer in the material. The shimmer part gives off like a maroon and evergreen color, but it's really only noticeable in the sun, so it gives off a totally different look when you get really close. The material is just so soft and doesn't make you feel itchy like a lot of shimmery sweaters! I've washed it already a couple times (clearly this sweater has been on repeat), and its' kept its' shape for the most part. I just hang-dry it to keep it from stretching/snagging. Overall, a great sweater for women of any age!

OK from the look of these pictures, I'm in desperate need of a haircut. I no longer have layers...not ok! Anyone in NW Iowa have a hair salon that they love? I'm pretty picky when it comes to hair dressers, but at this point my dead ends are winning this battle. HELP!

PS: be sure to check out my new side widget on the left! I'll be updating it regularly with pieces that I'm currently craving. Right now, that red J.Crew dress is seriously amazing! I think my sister Emily is buying it for Christmas so I might have to steal it from her for a day... hi Em if you're reading this! :)
