Earlier this week we had 40 degree weather with the sun shining, and if I didn't know better, I would have thought it was April! I definitely dress for my mood, so with the weather being so beautiful, I had to wear bright colors! My sweater from J.Crew is incredibly soft, and I'm loving all of the pretty pastel options for spring. I've linked a few different lightweight sweater options for you below, and most of them are under $50! 

OK so I have to ask - who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl? I'm not a huge fan of either team, however since I'm talking about the NFL, I would like to point out that I got 1st place in my fantasy football league this year (I'm the ONLY girl in my league!). I was told that in order to make this socially acceptable, my winnings must go towards a blog outfit so, boys, stay tuned ;)

When I saw this coat at White House Black Market, I'm not going to lie, I did a little happy dance in the dressing room. It was not only beautiful and one of my favorite color combos (white and blush - um, yes please!), but it was also ON SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like any girl, I love a good deal, but sometimes I get buyer's remorse when I buy something on sale, and then realize when I get home that I only liked it because it was on sale. Let's just say I am NOT regretting this purchase!

Today I'm all over NW Iowa for a big work meeting - part of my job is planning events, executing event day logistics and simply making guests feel comfortable all while keeping things moving along and putting out fires. I wouldn't trade it for the world - my work is interesting, challenging and I learn everyday - however after any event where I'm executing logistics, by the end of the day, I'm beat. I'm thinking yoga, my comfy bed and Scandal will be the perfect way to treat myself after this long day!

It was a liiiiiitle windy out, but my new Jack sweater helped keep me cozy and warm! Today is the start of the "University of Okoboji Winter Games" here in NW Iowa. To sum it up in one run-on sentence, Winter Games is an annual weekend event held on the lake (literally on the ice) that includes an array of field games, concerts, social gatherings, a 5K, and of course, plenty of beverages. The weather has been too warm to hold the games on the ice this year, so it won't be the same (according to locals!), but it's my first Winter Games so I'm excited to see what everyone is raving about!

There is something so classic about a black and white look. Whenever I wear this color combination, I feel confident that I'm making a sophisticated statement. What I love about a black and white look is that you can easily add in fun statement pieces or patterned accents, like my leopard bag, to spice up your look. You see, I live in a "small" community where my House of Harlow sunglasses would be considered a very trendy piece; in fact, it's common for me to have people in their cars giggling and pointing at my sunglasses while I'm in my car at stoplights (but seriously, this happens almost every time I wear them - and why are people looking into my car??? HA!). It equally cracks me up and creeps me out to be honest, however taking risks and mixing classic with trendy pieces is now something that I've learned to really love about my evolving style. Most of my pieces are, in fact, classics and basics that every girl has in their closets, however it's those fun pieces that are a bit unexpected that I enjoy incorporating into my looks to make myself stand out a little!

Ok this dress is just too great not to wear over and over! I bought this dress from H&M in the fall and have worn it so many times since - it's seriously an obsession! The material is cotton/jersey, so it's not too heavy to layer with jackets or vests. I've even tucked the bottom half into a skirt and it makes a great top! When you find a piece you can wear in many different ways, especially at H&M where the prices can't be beat, pulling the trigger is a no-brainer.

Good Morning! When I got this boxy, embellished shirt from J.Crew, I knew I would be wearing it often! The material is like a sweatshirt, so it's obviously cozy and the boxy shape makes it different than your run-of-the-mill embellished tee. I could see myself wearing this shirt during the summer months too (4th of July, perhaps?!?). 

So I've received a few emails from readers about my pumps, where I get them, are they comfortable, etc. So these J.Crew pumps are VERY easy to walk in! I also have them in nude, and they are really affordable and are great quality in my opinion. My BCBG pumps that I wore Monday are not as comfortable, but they aren't the kind of shoes I would wear around all day, so I think it's a good trade off. Plus, they're a fraction of the price of the Valentino Rockstuds and they look almost identical - score! 

PS - how rad is that orange chair? I need one in PINK!

I want to give a shout-out to my awesome photographer, Chris Baker. At the end of what felt like the longest day ever, I finally made it to his studio and was literally FREEZING because it was -30 outside (not an exaggeration!), but yet somehow Chris helped me break out of my comfort zone and do a totally different kind of shoot that I've never done before! There's just something a little more formal (and intimidating...) about an all white background, but I'm kinda loving the formal touches in my look with the black bow and gorgeous jewels, and the shots turned out amazing! Cheers to breaking out of YOUR shell in 2015!
