So I'm going to be honest with all of you about how often I shop for new clothes...First off, I travel quite a bit to see family and friends, and on top of that I drive 50 miles a day to get to and from work. Saving up for gas money is crucial for me! If I don't spend wisely, I don't get to work, and that's a serious problem!!! For me, shopping for new clothes is a luxury, and it only happens maybe 1x/month hopefully when I'm shopping at a mall and not online (so dangerous!). Although I like new things from time to time, it's really important for me to invest in high quality but affordable pieces that I know can be recycled with a multitude of items in my closet, and I feel like all of the pieces in today's outfit are great examples of that!

A good chambray should be lightweight and preferably in a lighter wash; you'll be able to reuse and style it for a broad range of occasions (I'm excited to wear mine with a new midi skirt for the holidays!). Black ponte pants are another staple for me; I wear them to work/church/running errands/you name it! And they're soooo comfy. An open cardigan in any neutral color or print is also a staple that you'll wear with anything and probably everything if you're like me! I like mine to be long-sleeved and long in length. My pumps from BCBG are definitely a little more trendy, however they're in neutral colors making them super versatile to style. Lastly, my jewelry - you'll notice I hardly ever change up my bracelets and watch, but when the arm party is good, why switch it up, right?

I'm interested to hear about all of your staples! Thanks for reading!

  1. The best pieces are the ones you reach for over and over. I love this post and how real you were about it. It seems lots of similar blogs buy new things for each post they do. I rarely see a nice rotation. A realistic wardrobe requires pieces you can wear over and over. Not just a shirt here or there because it's "new." Great post, great outfit! (:

    1. I totally agree! I'm all for buying new pieces, but I would never buy something just for one blog post :)
