However, if you're like me and you've tried alllll the t-shirts, you know that there is such a thing as a bad basic tee. It fits in all the wrong places, it shrivels down three sizes the first time you wash it, it starts as a fitted tee and turns into a relaxed fit by the time summer rolls around... you get the idea!
I can't say that I've been on the hunt for a good tee - I think I'd given up on that dream awhile ago - but when I saw this one I couldn't help but feel like I'd found "the one". Let's get into the details:
1. It's soft but durable. Normally when you think of a t-shirt, you think of super lightweight cotton, but this one is more dense than that. It's a woven cotton, so it's thicker on the skin but also softer. For being so soft, it actually doesn't pill or snag as easily as I thought it might. It's lasted almost a year for me so I can honestly say it's going to last you longer than your normal tee.
2. It has an ultra flattering v-neckline. I love a basic tee with a v-neckline because it brings the eyes up! Plus v-necks are going to be a little more versatile than a basic crew neck. You can layer tanks under it, pair it with a fun necklace like this one, wear it down with jeans or dress it up with a pencil skirt for work!
3. Ruffles! One of my favorite parts about this tee is that it has a different sleeve to it - a ruffle sleeve! It's not toooo ruffle-y either, if you know what I mean?! It's not too over the top and it creates a pretty, feminine touch to a rather basic staple item.
4. It's $17. For this girl on a budget, $17 for a quality tee is a good bargain! I have this shirt in white, black and grey/white stripes and I rotate them all year long.
Where do you shop for your basics? Thanks for reading and have a great day! xo, Libby
