Best Purchases in 2018

^^ this is all from my Instagram feed. You can follow me on Instagram here
My first blog post in 2019! Although it's a new year and we're all looking ahead to new goals and resolutions to better ourselves, I wanted to take a minute to reflect and pay homage to some of the best products I purchased in 2018! These are the items that I re-purchased multiple times, or I wore these items over and over again (I'm sure you could tell from my instagram, some of these I wore literally all.the.time!). As a blogger, I like to try new products and really only give a review unless I find something that I think should be in your holy grail. I started with makeup and skincare first before diving into my favorite clothing items... let's get started!

Stila Huge Lash Mascara

Outfit Details: Similar Sweater, Earrings, Mascara

Stila Huge Lash MascaraI mentioned this mascara in my December favorites post and a lot of you also tried it! In the past I've been blessed with naturally long lashes, however recently it seemed like they were getting really short and easily damaged. I started taking vitamins like biotin, drinking tons of water, using Revitalash... literally anything to keep them looking long and full and nothing seemed to really help. When I switched over to this mascara I realized that my eyelashes were fine, it was just my old mascara not doing it's job! This stuff works amazing. It gives you that look of full, gorgeous eyelash extensions without the hefty price tag! Plus they keep them looking soft and not super crispy or flaky like other mascaras.

Pantene Pro-V Blends Charcoal Shampoo  + Pantene Pro-V Blends Charcoal Conditioner

Outfit Details: Sweater, Similar Earrings, Bag

Pantene Pro-V Blends Charcoal Shampoo Pantene Pro-V Blends Charcoal ConditionerI love a good drugstore find, and these products are probably at the top of my favorite beauty item this year. I've tried lots of different hair care products, drugstore and salon quality, and these really made a difference in volume for me! The active charcoal in these products help to deep clean your scalp, getting rid of all the buildup from products you've used over time. I've noticed a huge difference in how much volume I have, plus I've noticed my hair is easier to style when I use these products together consistently.

MoroccanOil Nourishing Treatment

MoroccanOil Nourishing Treatment: Anyone else here suffer from dry skin in the winter?! My skin gets especially dry around my hairline and on my scalp. To combat the cooler temps, I add MoroccanOil Nourishing Treatment oil to my routine about every other wash. It helps keep my scalp from getting too dry or itchy throughout the winter! I'm normally hesitant to use an oil because my hair can get pretty oily from time to time, but this oil didn't weigh down my hair or make it oilier faster. I also use this when I'm done styling my hair - just take a small pea size drop between your hands and run it through your hair before or after using hairspray to help keep flyaways at bay! It keeps my hair looking suuuuuper smooth and silky!

Tula Purifying Face Cleanser: I'm obsessed with this one, mostly because I never thought I would actually purchase a cleanser that wasn't less than $5, but now that I think about it, why wouldn't I?! This cleanser uses probiotics in its formula to not only cleanse your skin but also to balance it out. I use probiotics everyday to keep everything else regular so it only made sense to add it to my skincare regimen. I have noticed a huge difference in my complexion being more even-toned, smoother and and less acne prone!

It Cosmetics CC Cream SPF 50+

It Cosmetics CC Cream SPF 50+: I've been a MAC Studio Fix girl for almost my whole life, however this CC cream is probably my most reached-for foundation in 2018. Not only is this lightweight but it's also medium-full coverage, which is hard to find! I love It Cosmetics because they incorporate SPF and anti-aging ingredients in all of their products, so you don't have to worry about applying sunscreen or anti-aging products prior to your foundation. It's just one step and you're done! This foundation looks great alone without a setting powder (however for a more polished look, I like using Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder).

Blue Romper from Katy Lynn Boutique

Outfit Details: Romper, Sandals, Necklace

Blue Romper from Katy Lynn BoutiqueI wore this romper soooo much this summer that I had to include it in today's post. I wore it to the theater to see Hamilton, out with friends to dinner, on a boat cruise, you name the occasion and I wore it! It's such a versatile piece and comes in a very flattering cobalt blue color. Since this was a boutique find I'll link a few similar items below!

Pearl Oversized Denim Jacket

Pearl Oversized Denim Jacket: Anytime I wore this jacket on Instagram stories you guys asked about it. This oversized pearl denim jacket is so versatile and fun to wear in the spring and fall. I loved pairing this with athleisure looks and casual dresses the most! I found mine at a TJMaxx store, however I found some exact similar options below, in different washes too!

Marc Fisher Tuscany Pumps

Outfit Details: Dress, Heels

Marc Fisher Tuscany PumpsI didn't photograph these a lot, but these are by far my most worn heels in 2018. With a heel height of under 4" these are super easy to wear from day to night, plus they come in a wide variety of styles and materials. I have these in both tan suede and black leather and they have aged beautifully. I purchased my tan pair in 2017 and I've worn them at least twice a week since then and they're still going strong! Plus they're on sale for under $50.

What were your go-to pieces in 2018? Let me know if you end up trying any of these, I would love to hear if you loved them just as much as I did!
