Snow Storm Thoughts

I haven't done one of these random posts in awhile, so now's the time to get a few random thoughts out in the universe! Plus with all this snow piling my driveway lately, I'll take any excuse to not have to go out in the cold and shovel.

I ordered a bunch of items from SheIn for the first time and I was a little disappointed. I loved everything I ordered and I looked over the sizing charts a million times, even ordering 1-2 sizes up on everything because I know they run small... and yet everything was still really snug! I think I'll try ordering again though because I would've kept everything I bought if it fit correctly. If you're interested in ordering from there, DEFINITELY check their size charts and then go up at least one size whatever it says. Like I said, I'll definitely order from there again, I just didn't think the sizing was that accurate and they run pretty small. Below is what I ordered.

I can't tell you how many times I've almost signed up to be a Beachbody coach. I love their programs, drink the shakes and take their pre-workout. There's no doubt in my mind the system works and I've seen great results... yet something about putting myself out there regarding health and fitness really intimidates me. I think the idea of being judged or wondering what people will think is also a huge barrier for me. We'll see if I decide to do it or not... anyone else a coach and have similar feelings before jumping in?

Speaking of MLMs, I just started using Rodan + Fields Lash Boost and I'm really excited to track my results! I've only had it about a week, so I have awhile before I'll see true results but I'll definitely share an honest review on my blog once I get through a bottle. I ordered my lash boost from my friend Emma White who is a consultant.

We've officially lived in Des Moines for a few months now (I've been here 6 months, Nate has been here almost 3) and we're still really loving it! So far our favorite places are Smash Park for fun date nights, GMigs and Royal Mile for dive bars, Django for a fancy dinner, Fongs for Friday happy hour (every drink you buy during happy hour you get a free piece of pizza - its amazing!), and attending professional hockey games - Buccaneers or Iowa Wild are both super fun and inexpensive!

The constant extreme news about government shutdowns and "he said, she said" has me so anxious about anything news related. I'm not sure what would help our government officials to play nice, but I'm semi-convinced putting them all in a room together and playing some Beatles "Come Together" might help at this point.

This time last year Nate and I were in Riviera Maya, Mexico with friends and I'm dying to go back soon! We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya and I did a review of our stay here. I stalk the resort's Facebook fan page at least once a day (guests share photos and ask questions). We're thinking of going somewhere this fall but probably not anywhere outside the U.S. - any suggestions? I would love to go back to NYC around Christmastime or possibly Arizona to see family.

I have a trip to Miami for a bachelorette in May, so I've just started to look online for swimsuits. We're staying in an Airbnb and have a pool but we'll be close to the beach, so I need a few options. I'm loving this one and this one right now.

Alright, that's all for now! Hope you're having a great day! Thanks for reading.
